Using the Solution on Mobile Devices¶
*[the article is work-in-progress]
Note
Presently, due to a limitation in MS Outlook Mobile, LPC Add-In can only be used in MS Outlook for Android or iOS with Office 365 mail accounts, and not with MS Exchange accounts. At that, users’ data from MS Exchange accounts can handled using LinkPoint Connect(ME) synchronization, through auto-saving or the custom “Salesforce” category / folder / list, as described in this article

LinkPoint Connect(ME) allows teams to collaborate on-the-go within their Salesforce Orgs, by saving business Contacts, Emails, Calendar events, and Tasks in Salesforce right from personal smartphone or tablet devices with MS Outlook Mobile or On the Web running. Similarly, Contacts and other Salesforce records, Tasks, or Calendar Appointments can be instantly created, updated, or processed via the Sidebar; all additions and changes get automatically mirrored two-way between mail server and Salesforce through server-side LPC Sync Engine.
If your device has a high enough screen resolution, for example you are using a tablet, you may also effectively use the full rendition of LPC Sidebar in MS Outlook on the Web in a supported mobile browser.
How to Handle Business Communication Data from a Mobile device¶
To save an Email, Contact, or Task in Salesforce from a mobile device, you may use the basic methods provided by LPC Sync Engine or the Save button provided by the mobile rendition of LPC Outlook Add-In.
You can also use several other LinkPoint Connect(ME) Add-In Sidebar functions in its mobile rendition on MS Outlook for iOS or Android: create or search Salesforce records, schedule Time Slots or Book Me meetings, etc.
In MS Outlook for iOS¶
Saving Emails from iPhone¶
Emails can be saved in one of the following ways:
- using the basic Sync Engine means – the custom Salesforce Emails folder
- using the Save button in the mobile rendition of LPC Sidebar
Saving via the custom folder¶
Method 1:
Tap, hold and drag the needed business email to the right, then put it into the Salesforce Emails folder.

Method 2. Also used for bulk emails processing:
Tap the circle next to the needed business emails to select them, then tap the icon Move to Folder in the bottom toolbar and select the Salesforce Emails folder.
Method 3.
Open the needed business email by double-tapping on it. Then tap the ••• (Menu) icon on the top. Next, tap the item Move to Folder and select the Salesforce Emails folder
Some LPC functions can also be performed in Microsoft Contacts App and in Microsoft To Do App on Android. . At that, note that emails saving can also be performed by LPC Sync using the dedicated Salesforce folder or label method. You can effectively use Outlook for Android or iOS with LinkPoint Connect(ME). This way you can both easily save your Emails, Contacts, and Tasks via the dedicated Salesforce folder and take advantage of using LPC Sidebar‘s mobile rendition.
Note You may also use LinkPoint Connect(ME) Sidebar in Outlook on the Web (Outlook.com, Outlook.office.com) opened in your mobile web browser, but the Sidebar’s controls are not specifically optimized for lower mobile screen resolutions With LinkPoint Connect(ME) installed in MS Outlook Mobile, you can save the following items types in Salesforce: LPC Sidebar‘s mobile rendition is limited but it supports performing all essential LinkPoint Connect(ME) functions. MS Outlook Tasks can be synced in Salesforce via the standard Microsoft To Do mobile app, just mark them for syncing by assigning them to the custom “Salesforce Tasks” list. To open LinkPoint Connect(ME) Sidebar in the MS Outlook Mobile after you have installed the Add-In and activated LPC Sync, tap the ••• (More) icon next to the sender’s address, then select Open LinkPoint Connect(ME). The Screenshots are actual for Outlook for iOS App 2.99.0 on iOS 11.4.1 Next, you will see LinkPoint Connect(ME) Sidebar with relevant records displayed: To share an email message in Salesforce, move this message to the Salesforce Emails folder or select it, open LPC Sidebar and click Save. Since MS Outlook Mobile does not allow custom categories assigning and LPC Sidebar is unavailable for opened calendar items, there are only three options for syncing calendar items: You may also create new Salesforce Events directly using the + (Create) button in LPC Sidebar. At that, any Events created this way will appear in MS Outlook or Gmail calendar as attendee-less Appointments. See this article for details. LPC Meeting Scheduler features Book Me and Time Slots are also available in the mobile implementation. Meeting invitation links generation dialogs are mostly identical to Desktop implementation, see the following articles for complete information: Book Me; Time Slots. MS Outlook Tasks can be synced in Salesforce via the standard Microsoft To Do mobile app, just mark them for syncing by assigning the custom “Salesforce Tasks” category. For phone devices, there is only a limited scope of items saving scenarios using LinkPoint Connect(ME) for Gmail: To save an email message in Salesforce, move the message to the “Salesforce Emails” folder. When you are using LinkPoint Connect(ME) in MS Outlook on a mobile device, due to the peculiarities of the mobile implementation of MS Outlook the solution offers slightly different use patterns than in MS Outlook Desktop devices or Outlook on the Web:
